1 For the one directing. According to Gittith. Of Asaph. Ring out praise to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! 2 Lift up a melody and strike the timbrel, the sweet-sounding harp with the lute. 3 Blow the shofar on the new moon, on the full moon at the day of our Feast. 4 For it is a statute, O Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob. 5 As a testimony He established it in Joseph, in His going forth over the land of Egypt. I heard a language that I did not know: 6 “I turned aside his shoulder from the burden; his hands pass over from the basket. 7 In the time of distress you called, and I drew you out; I answered you in the secret place of thunder; I tested you at the waters of Meribah.
