15 As a roaring lion and a raging bear, so is a wicked ruler over the poor. 16 A ruler who lacks understanding is also a great oppressor; but he who hates deceit shall prolong his life. 17 A man who is engaged in shedding of blood shall flee even to the jailer, and no one shall help him. 18 He who walks uprightly shall be saved; but he who is perverse in his ways shall fall into a pit. 19 He who tills the land shall have abundance of bread; but he who follows after vain pursuits shall have plenty of poverty. 20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings; but an evil man shall not be innocent. 21 A man who shows partiality is not good; for a piece of bread a man will become a traitor. 22 He who hastens to be rich has an evil eye and considers not that poverty shall come upon him. 23 He who rebukes a man shall find more favor afterwards than he who flatters with his tongue. 24 He who robs his father or his mother and says, It is no transgression, the same is the companion of a wicked man. 25 A greedy man stirs up strife; but he who puts his trust in the LORD shall be enriched. 26 He who trusts in his own heart is a fool; but he who walks with integrity will be delivered. 27 He who gives to the poor shall not lack; but he who turns his eyes away from the needy shall have many a curse. 28 When the wicked rise, men hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous increase.
