Numbers 9:1-12 ▼

1 And YHWH spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, in the first month, saying,

2 “And let the sons of Israel keep the Passover at its appointed time.

3 On the fourteenth day of this month, between the evenings, you⁺ shall keep it at its appointed time. According to all its statutes and ordinances you⁺ shall keep it.”

4 And Moses spoke to the sons of Israel, that they should keep the Passover.

5 And they kept the Passover in the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, between the evenings, in the Wilderness of Sinai; according to all that YHWH commanded Moses, so the sons of Israel did.

6 And there were men who were defiled by the body of a man, so that they could not keep the Passover on that day. And they came before the face of Moses and Aaron that day.

7 And those men said to him, “We are defiled by the body of a man; why are we restrained from presenting the offering of YHWH at its appointed time in the midst of the sons of Israel?”

8 And Moses said to them, “Stand still, that I may hear what YHWH commands concerning you⁺.”

9 And YHWH spoke to Moses, saying,

10 “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘If any man is unclean by a body or on a journey far away from you⁺ or your⁺ posterity, he may still keep the Passover of YHWH.

11 In the second month, on the fourteenth day, between the evenings they may keep it; with unleavened bread and bitter herbs they shall eat it.

12 They shall leave none of it until morning, and a bone of it they shall not break. According to all the ordinances of the Passover, they shall keep it.
