24 And Moses went out and spoke to the people the words of YHWH, and he gathered seventy men of the elders of the people and placed them around the tabernacle. 25 And YHWH came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and placed it upon the seventy elders. And it came to pass, when the Spirit rested upon them, that they prophesied—and they never did again. 26 And two men had remained in the camp—the name of one was Eldad and the name of the second Medad. And the Spirit rested upon them, and they were among those listed who had not gone out to the tabernacle, and they prophesied in the camp. 27 And the young man ran and told Moses and said, “Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp.” 28 And Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant from his youth, answered and said, “My lord Moses, restrain them.” 29 And Moses said to him, “Are you zealous for my sake? If only he would make all people of YHWH prophets, and that YHWH would put His Spirit upon them.” 30 And Moses returned to the camp, he and the elders of Israel. 31 And a wind went out from YHWH, and it brought quail from the sea and left them near the camp, about a journey of a day on this side, and about a journey of a day on this side, all around the camp, and about two cubits above the surface of the ground. 32 And the people stayed up all that day, and all the night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quail. He who had least gathered ten homers. And they spread them out for themselves all around the camp. 33 The flesh was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, and the anger of YHWH was kindled against the people, and YHWH struck the people with a very great plague. 34 And he called the name of that place Kibroth-hattaavah, because there they buried the people who had craved. 35 From Kibroth-hattaavah the people moved to Hazeroth, and camped at Hazeroth.
