2 And behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed. And Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the palsied man: Son, be of good courage; your sins are forgiven you. 3 And behold, some of the scribes said within themselves: This man talks impiously. 4 And Jesus, perceiving their thoughts, said: "Why do evil thoughts arise in your hearts? 5 For, which is easier, to say, Your sins are forgiven; or to say, Arise, and walk? 6 But that you may know that the Son of man on earth has authority to forgive sins (then he said to the palsied man): Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house. 7 And he arose, and departed to his house. 8 And when the multitude saw it, they were astonished, and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.
