24 therefore, whoever heareth these instructions of mine, and puts them in practice, I will compare him to the prudent man, who built his house upon a rock: 25 the rain descended, the floods came, the winds blew, and beat upon that house: but it fell not, for it was founded upon a rock. 26 but every one that heareth these instructions of mine, and practiseth them not, shall be compared to a fool who built his house upon the sand: 27 the rain descends, the flood rushes on, the winds blow, and beat upon the house: down it falls, and wide are its ruins. 28 At length Jesus finished his discourse, and the people were fill'd with astonishment at his doctrine. 29 for he taught them, as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
