44 But I tell you⁺, love {agapate} your⁺ enemies [bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you,] and pray for those who [spitefully accuse you and] persecute you⁺, 45 that you⁺ may be sons of your⁺ Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you⁺ love {agapēsēte} those who love {agapōntas} you⁺, what reward will you⁺ get? Do not even tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you⁺ greet only your⁺ brothers (and sisters), what are you⁺ doing more than others? Do not even Gentiles {ethnikoi} do the same? 48 Be perfect (complete), therefore, as your⁺ heavenly Father {Patēr} is perfect. Matthew 5:44-48, Berean Annotated Bible. Public domain.
