1 And it came to pass when Jesus finished all these words, He said to His disciples, 2 "Ye know that, after two days, the passover takes place, and the Son of Man is delivered up to be crucified." 3 Then the high priests and the elders of the people were gathered together into the court of the high priest who was called Caiaphas; 4 and they consulted together that they might take Jesus by guile and kill Him. 5 But they said, "Not during the feast, lest an uproar might arise among the people." 6 Now, when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, 7 there came to Him a woman having an alabaster cruse of very precious ointment, and poured it down upon His head, while reclining at table. 8 And the disciples, seeing it, were much displeased, saying, "To what purpose is this waste? 9 For this might have been sold for much, and given to the poor!"
