1 And it came to pass, when Jesus finished these discourses, He said to His disciples, 2 You know that after two days is the passover, and the Son of man is delivered to be crucified. 3 Then the chief priests, and scribes, and elders of the people, were assembled in the hall of the high priest, called Caiaphas. 4 And they immediately passed the verdict that they would take Jesus by stratagem, and kill Him. 5 But they said, Not at the feast, lest there be an uproar among the people. 6 And Jesus being in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, 7 a woman having an alabaster box of myrrh, very valuable, came to Him and poured it on His head, while sitting at the table. 8 And His disciples, seeing, were indignant, saying, For what was this waste? 9 For this was able to be sold for much, and given to the poor.
