Par

Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying,

"A voice in Ramah was heard, weeping and great mourning; Rachel, weeping for her children; and she was not willing to be comforted, because they are not."

And, Herod having died, behold, an angel of the Lord appears to Joseph in a dream in Egypt, saying,

"Arising, take the Child and His mother, and go into the land of Israel; for those who sought the life of the Child are dead."

And he, having risen, took the Child and His mother, and came into the land of Israel.

But, hearing that Archelaus was reigning over Juda instead of his father Herod, he feared to go thither; and, having been divinely warned in a dream, he withdrew into the parts of Galilee;

and, coming, he dwelt in a city called Nazareth; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophets, "A Nazarene shall He be called."
