43 Joseph, who is from Arimathea, an honorable councilor, who also himself was waiting for the kingdom of God; having taken courage came to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. 44 And Pilate was astonished if He had died already. And having called the centurion, asked him if He was already dead. 45 And having learned from the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph. 46 And having purchased linen, and taking Him down, he wrapped Him in the linen, and placed Him in a sepulcher which had been hewn out of the rock; and he rolled a stone to the door of the sepulcher.
