10 For Pilate knew that the high priests had delivered him because of envy. 11 But the high priests incited the people the more, that he should release Bar-Abbas to them. 12 Pilate said to them, What then do you wish me to do to this man whom you call “the King of the Jews”? 13 And they cried out again, Crucify him! 14 Then Pilate said to them, What evil has he done? but they cried aloud the more, Crucify him! 15 Now Pilate wanted to do the will of the people; so he released Bar-Abbas to them, and he delivered to them Jesus, scourged, to be crucified.
