24 After John’s (YHWH is gracious) messengers (angels) had left, Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John: “What did you⁺ go out into the wilderness (solitary place) to see? A reed swaying in the wind? 25 Otherwise, what did you⁺ go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? Look (Behold), those who wear elegant clothing and live in luxury are found in palaces. 26 What then did you⁺ go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you⁺, and more than a prophet. 27 This is the one about whom it is written: ‘Behold, I will send My messenger (angel) ahead of You, who will prepare Your way before You 28 I tell you⁺, among those born of women there is no one greater than John (YHWH is gracious), yet even the least in the kingdom of God {Theou} is greater than he.
