1 And it came to pass on the eighth day that Moses called for Aaron and for his sons and for the elders of Israel, 2 and he said to Aaron, “Take for yourself a calf, a son of the herd, for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering, unblemished, and bring them near before the face of YHWH. 3 And you shall speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘Take a kid of the goats for a sin offering, and a calf and a lamb—sons of a year, unblemished—for a burnt offering, 4 and a bull and a ram for peace offerings to sacrifice before the face of YHWH, and a grain offering mixed with the oil. For today YHWH will appear to you?.’” 5 And they brought what Moses had commanded to the face of the Tent of Meeting, and all the congregation drew near and stood before the face of YHWH. 6 And Moses said, “This is the thing that YHWH has commanded you? to do, and the glory of YHWH will appear to you?.” 7 And Moses said to Aaron, “Draw near to the altar and do your sin offering and your burnt offering, and make atonement on your behalf and on behalf of the people. And do the offering of the people and make atonement on their behalf, as YHWH commanded.” 8 And Aaron drew near to the altar, and he slaughtered the calf of the sin offering that was for himself. 9 And the sons of Aaron brought near the blood to him, and he dipped his finger in the blood, and he put it on the horns of the altar, and he poured out the blood at the base of the altar. 10 And the fat and the kidneys and the lobe of the liver from the sin offering he burned on the altar, as YHWH had commanded Moses.
