1 AND the LORD spoke to Moses on mount Sinai, saying, 2 Speak to the children of Israel and say to them, When you come into the land which I give you for an inheritance, then shall the land keep a sabbath to the LORD. 3 Six years you shall sow your fields and six years you shall prune your vineyards and six years you shall gather in your produce; 4 But the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest to the land, and it shall be to you a sabbath for the LORD; you shall neither sow your fields nor prune your vineyards. 5 That which grows of itself of your harvest you shall not reap, neither gather the grapes of your undressed vine; for it is the year of rest to the land.
