2 And the Danites sent of their families five men from Zedah and from Eshtaol, to spy out the land, and to explore it; and they said to them, Go and explore the land. And they came to mount Ephraim, to the house of Micah, and they lodged there. 3 When they were at the house of Micah, they recognized the voice of the young man, the Levite, and they turned aside there and said to him, Why did you come here? And what are you doing here? 4 And he said to them, Thus and thus has Micah dealt with me, and has hired me, and I have become his priest. 5 And they said to him, Inquire for us of God, that we may know whether the errand for which we go shall prosper. 6 And the priest said to them, Go in peace; and may the LORD prosper the errand on which you go. 7 Then the five men departed and came to Laish, and saw the people who were in it, how they dwelt in tranquillity after the manner of the Zidonians, peaceful and quiet; and there was no one to do harm in the land, neither was there anyone to harass and to oppress; and they were far from the Zidonians, and had no business with any man.
