So Ephraim (doubly fruitful) and Manasseh (causing to forget), the sons of Joseph (YHWH has added), received their inheritance.

This was the territory of the descendants of Ephraim (doubly fruitful) by their clans: The border of their inheritance went from Ataroth-addar (crowns of glory) in the east to Upper Beth-horon (house of hollowness)

and out toward the Sea. From Michmethath (hiding place) on the north it turned eastward toward Taanath-shiloh (approach to Shiloh) and passed by it to Janoah (He rests) on the east.

From Janoah (He rests) it went down to Ataroth (crowns) and Naarah (maiden), and then reached Jericho (city of palms) and came out at the Jordan (flowing down).

From Tappuah (the apple city) the border went westward to the Brook of Kanah (reed) and ended at the Sea. This was the inheritance of the clans of the tribe of Ephraim (doubly fruitful),

along with all the cities and villages set apart for the descendants of Ephraim (doubly fruitful) within the inheritance of Manasseh (causing to forget).

But they did not drive out the Canaanites (merchants) who lived in Gezer (portion). So the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites (doubly fruitful) to this day, but they are forced laborers.
