7 when a woman of Samaria coming to draw water, Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. 8 (For his disciples were gone away to the city to buy food.) 9 But the Samaritan saith unto Him, How is it that thou who art a Jew askest drink of me, who am a Samaritan? for the Jews have no friendly intercourse with the Samaritans. 10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith unto thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldst have asked of Him, and He would have given thee living water.
