1 Having said these things, Jesus went out with His disciples beyond the Brook of Kidron, where there was a garden into which He and His disciples entered. 2 Now Judas, who is delivering Him up, also knew the place, because Jesus often gathered together there with His disciples. 3 Therefore Judas, having procured the cohort and officers from the chief priests and from the Pharisees, comes there with lanterns and torches and weapons. 4 Jesus, therefore, knowing all things that are coming upon Him, having gone out, also said to them, “Whom do you? seek?” 5 They answered Him, “Jesus of Nazareth.” He says to them, “I am He.” Now Judas, who is delivering Him up, also had been standing with them. 6 Therefore when He said to them, “I am He,” they drew toward the back and fell to the ground. 7 Again, therefore, He questioned them, “Whom do you? seek?” And they said, “Jesus of Nazareth.” 8 Jesus answered, “I said to you? that I am He. Therefore if you? seek Me, allow these to go away,” 9 so that the word that He had spoken might be fulfilled: “Those whom You have given Me, I did not lose any of them, not one.” 10 Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear. Now the servant’s name was Malchus. 11 Therefore Jesus said to Peter, “Put the sword into the sheath! The cup that the Father has given Me, shall I not drink it?” 12 Then the cohort and the commander and the officers of the Jews took hold of Jesus and bound Him. John 18:1-12, Berean Literal Bible.
