1 I have spoken these things to you, that you may not be offended. 2 They will put you out of the synagogues: but the hour is coming, that every one killing you may think he is offering service to God. 3 And they will do these things, because they did not know the Father, nor me. 4 But I have spoken these things to you, that when the hour may come, you may remember them, that I did say them to you. But I said not these things to you from the beginning, because I was with you. 5 But now I go to Him that sent me; and no one of you asks me, Whither goest thou? 6 But because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. 7 But now I tell you the truth; it is profitable to you that I may go away. For if I go not away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I may go, I will send Him to you. 8 And having come, He will convict the world concerning sin, and concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment. 9 Concerning sin indeed, because they do not believe on me; and concerning righteousness; 10 because I go to the Father, and you see me no more; 11 and concerning judgment, because the prince of this world has been condemned.
