1 SO these three men who wanted to condemn Job ceased answering him, because he was found righteous in their eyes. 2 Then Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, was angry; so his wrath against Job kindled, because he justified himself more than God. 3 His wrath also kindled against his three friends, because they had found no answer to Job so that they might condemn him. 4 Now Elihu had waited to correct Job with words, because the other men were older than he. 5 When Elihu saw that these three were unable to answer Job, then he was incensed. 6 And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, Because I am younger than you in days and you are old, therefore I was afraid, and did not dare to show you my knowledge. 7 For I said, Days should speak, and the multitude of years should teach wisdom. 8 Truly, there is a spirit in men; and the breath of the Almighty gives them understanding. 9 It is not age that makes men wise; nor do the aged always understand judgment.
