2 concerning Egypt (land of bondage) and the army of Pharaoh (great house) Neco (lame) king of Egypt, which was defeated at Carchemish (fortress of Chemosh) on the Euphrates (fruitfulness) River by Nebuchadnezzar (may Nebo protect the crown) king of Babylon (confusion by mixing) in the fourth year of Jehoiakim (YHWH raises up) the son of Josiah (whom YHWH heals) king of Judah (praised): 3 “Deploy your shields, small and large; advance for battle! 4 Harness the horses; mount the steeds; take your positions with helmets on! Polish your spears; put on armor! 5 Why am I seeing this?
