COMFORT ye, comfort ye my people, says your God.

Speak comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry to her, for she was filled with violence and delighted in sin; and she has received from the LORD'S hand double punishment for all her sins.

The voice of him that cries in the wilderness, Prepare the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

Every valley shall be filled up, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the steep place shall be made straight, and the rough places smooth;

And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken it.

The voice says, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all its beauty is like the flower of the field;

The grass withers, the flower fades, because the breath of the LORD blows upon it; surely this people is like the grass.

The grass withers, the flower fades; but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
