1 In the year of the coming of Tartan to Ashdod, when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him, then he fought against Ashdod and captured it.

2 At the time that YHWH spoke by the hand of Isaiah son of Amoz, saying, “Go and remove the sackcloth from your body, and draw off your sandals from your feet.” And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.

3 And YHWH said, “As My servant Isaiah has walked naked and barefoot three years as a sign and a wonder against Egypt and against Cush,

4 so the king of Assyria will lead away the captive of Egypt and the exile of Cush—young and old—naked and barefoot, and their buttocks uncovered, the nakedness of Egypt.

5 And they will be dismayed and ashamed of Cush as their hope and Egypt as their glory.
