1 And YHWH said to Noah, “Go, you and all your house, into the ark, because you I have seen righteous before My face in this generation. 2 From every clean animal you shall take with you seven by seven, a male and his female; and from the animals that are not clean, from these two: A male and his female; 3 also from each bird of the heavens, seven by seven, male and female, to keep alive the seed upon the face of all the earth. 4 For after seven more days I am sending rain upon the earth for forty days and forty nights; I will wipe out every living thing that I have made from the face of the ground!” 5 And Noah did according to all that YHWH had commanded him. 6 And Noah was a son of six hundred years, and the flood of waters came upon the earth. 7 And Noah entered—and his sons, and his wife, and the wives of his sons with him—into the ark, from the face of the waters of the flood. 8 From the clean animal, and from the animal that is not clean, and from the bird and everything that crawls on the ground, 9 two by two they came to Noah, to the ark, male and female, as God had commanded Noah. 10 And it came to pass, after the seven days, that the waters of the flood came upon the earth. 11 In the six hundredth year, in that year of the life of Noah, in the second month, on the seven and tenth day of the month—on this day burst forth all the fountains of the great deep, and the windows of the heavens were opened. 12 And rain was upon the earth for forty days and forty nights.
