1 AND he has quickened you also who were dead because of your sins and trespasses; 2 In which you previously walked according to the worldly course of this world, and according to the will of the supreme ruler of the air, the spirit which is active in the children of disobedience. 3 In those very deeds in which we were also corrupted from the very beginning through the lusts of the flesh, fulfilling the wills of the flesh and of the mind: thereby we became completely the children of wrath, even as others. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in our sins, has made us live together with Christ, by whose grace we are saved; 6 And he has raised us up with him, and seated us with him in heaven, through Jesus Christ. 7 In the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Jesus Christ. 8 For it is by grace that you are saved through faith; not of your doing: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his creation, created through Jesus Christ ultimately for good works, which God has before ordained that we should live in them. 11 Wherefore remember that you were Gentiles in the flesh from the beginning, and you were called Uncircumcision, differing from that which is called Circumcision, which is the work of the hands in the flesh. 12 At that time you were without Christ, being aliens to the customs of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of the promise, without hope, and without God in the world. 13 But now, through Jesus Christ, you who sometimes were far off are brought near by the blood of Christ.
