22 You must surely tithe all the increase of your seed that the field produces year by year. 23 And you shall eat before the face of YHWH your God, in the place where He chooses for His Name to dwell, the tithe of your grain, and your new wine, and your oil, and of the firstborn of your herd and your flock, so that you may learn to fear YHWH your God all the days. 24 But if the journey is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry it, or if the place is too far from you where YHWH your God chooses to put His Name when YHWH your God has blessed you, 25 then you shall exchange it for silver, and take the silver in your hand, and go to the place that YHWH your God chooses in it. 26 And you shall spend the silver for whatever your soul desires, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for anything that your soul desires; and you shall eat there before the face of YHWH your God, and you shall rejoice—you and your house. 27 And the Levite who is within your gates you shall not forsake, for unto him is not a portion or inheritance with you. 28 At the end of three years you shall bring out all the tithe of your produce of that year and store it up within your gates. 29 And the Levite may come—for unto him is not a portion or inheritance with you—and the sojourner, and the fatherless, and the widow who is within your gates. And they shall eat and be satisfied, that YHWH your God may bless you in all the work of your hand that you do. Deuteronomy 14:22-29, Berean Literal Bible. Public domain.
