1 YOU are the children of the LORD your God; you shall not make tattooed patterns in the skin, nor any baldness between your eyes for the dead. 2 For you are a holy people to the LORD your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be a beloved people to himself, above all the peoples that are on the face of the earth. 3 You shall not eat any abominable thing. 4 These are the beasts which you shall eat: the ox, the sheep, the goat, 5 The hart, the gazelle, the roebuck, the wild goat, the buffalo, the rock-goat, the mountain goat. 6 Every animal that parts the hoof and has the hoof divided into two parts and chews the cud among the animals, that you shall eat.
