1 Now Peter and John were going up to the temple together at the hour of prayer, which is the ninth hour. 2 And a certain man who had been lame from his birth was carried along; whom they laid every day at the gate of the temple, which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of those that were going into the temple: 3 who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked alms of them. 4 But Peter, and John, looking earnestly at him said, Look on us. 5 And he fixed his eyes upon them, expecting to receive something from them.
