1 And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, on the tenth of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem and encamped against it. And they built against it a siege wall all around. 2 And the city came under siege until the eleventh year of King Zedekiah. 3 And on the ninth day of the fourth month, the famine had become so severe in the city that there was no bread for the people of the land. 4 And the city was breached, and all the men of war fled by night by way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the garden of the king. And the Chaldeans were against the city all around. And he went by way of the Arabah. 5 And the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and they overtook him in the plains of Jericho, and all his army was scattered from him. 6 And they took the king and brought him up to the king of Babylon at Riblah, and they pronounced judgment on him. 7 And the sons of Zedekiah they killed before his eyes, and the eyes of Zedekiah he put out, and he bound him with bronze fetters and took him to Babylon. 8 And in the fifth month, on the seventh of the month (it was the ninth year and tenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon), Nebuzaradan the captain of the guards, a servant of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem. 9 And he burned the house of YHWH, and the house of the king, and all the houses of Jerusalem—and every great house he burned with the fire. 2 Kings 25:1-9, Berean Literal Bible.
