16 And we have come to know and believe the love {agapēn} that God {Theos} has for us. God is love {agapē}; whoever abides in love abides in God {Theō}, and God in him. 17 In this way, love {agapē} has been perfected among us, so that we may have confidence on the day of judgment; for in this world we are just like Him. 18 There is no fear in love {agapē}, but perfect (complete) love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment.
