And the sons of Gad dwelt next to them in the land of Bashan as far as Salcah.

Joel was the chief, and Shapham the next, and Jaanai, and Shaphat in Bashan.

And their brothers of the house of their fathers were Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jachan, and Zia, and Eber—seven.

These were the sons of Abihail son of Huri, son of Jaroah, son of Gilead, son of Michael, son of Jeshishai, son of Jahdo, son of Buz.

Ahi son of Abdiel, son of Guni, was chief of the house of their fathers.

And they dwelt in Gilead, in Bashan, and in its villages, and in all the pasturelands of Sharon on their outskirts.

All of them were reckoned in the days of Jotham king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

The sons of Reuben, and the Gadite, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, of sons of valor, men bearing shield and sword, and drawing with the bow, and skillful in war—forty-four thousand and seven hundred and sixty going out to the host.

And they made war with the Hagrites, and Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab.

And they were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hands, and all who were with them, for they cried out to God in the battle, and He heeded the prayer of them because they put their trust in Him.

And they took captive their livestock, of their camels fifty thousand, and of their sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of their donkeys two thousand, and also of their men a hundred thousand.

For many fell slain, because the battle was of God. And they dwelt in their place until the exile.

And the sons of the half-tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land. From Bashan as far as Baal-hermon and Senir and Mount Hermon they multiplied.

And these were the heads of the house of their fathers: Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel. They were men mighty in valor, men of renown, and heads to the house of their fathers.

And they were unfaithful to the God of their fathers and played the prostitute after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God had destroyed before them.

And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria (that is, the spirit of Tiglath-pilneser king of Assyria), and he removed them—the Reubenite, and the Gadite, and the half-tribe of Manasseh—and He took them to Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and the river of Gozan, to this day.
