All these were of the sons of Obed-edom; they and their sons and their brothers, men of valor with power for work—sixty-two of Obed-edom.

And to Meshelemiah were sons and brothers, sons of valor—eighteen.

And to Hosah of the sons of Merari were sons: Shimri the first (although he was not the firstborn, his father made him the first),

Hilkiah the second, Tebaliah the third, Zechariah the fourth—all the sons and brothers of Hosah, thirteen.

Among these were the divisions of the gatekeepers, the heads of the mighty ones having duties just like their brothers, to serve in the house of YHWH.

And they cast lots, the small as well as the great, according to the house of their fathers, for each gate.

And the lot fell for the East to Shelemiah. And for Zechariah his son, a wise counselor, they cast lots, and his lot came out for the North.

To Obed-edom the South, and to his sons the house of the gatherings.

To Shuppim and Hosah for the West, with the Shallecheth Gate on the ascending highway. A guard was alongside a guard.

To the east the Levites were six, to the north day by day four, to the south day by day four, and at the storehouse two by two.

At Parbar on the west, were four at the highway and two at Parbar.

These were the divisions of the gatekeepers among the sons of the Korahite and among the sons of Merari.

And of the Levites, Ahijah was over the treasuries of the house of God and over the treasuries of the holy things.

The sons of Laadan, the sons of the Gershonite, of Ladan, the heads of the fathers of Laadan the Gershonite were Jehieli,

the sons of Jehieli: Zetham, and Joel his brother, over the treasuries of the house of YHWH.

Of the Amramite, the Izharite, the Hebronite, and the Uzzielite:

And Shebuel son of Gershom son of Moses was overseer of the treasuries.

And his brothers through Eliezer: Rehabiah his son, and Jeshaiah his son, and Joram his son, and Zichri his son, and Shelomith his son.

This Shelomoth and his brothers were over all the treasuries of the holy things that David the king and the heads of the fathers, even heads of thousands and of hundreds, and the captains of the army, had dedicated.

From the battles and from the plunder they dedicated to strengthen the house of YHWH,

and all that Samuel the seer, and Saul son of Kish, and Abner son of Ner, and Joab son of Zeruiah, had dedicated—all sanctified under the hand of Shelomith and his brothers.

Of the Izharite: Chenaniah and his sons unto the outside work were over Israel as officials and judges.

Of the Hebronite: Hashabiah and his brothers, sons of valor, a thousand and seven hundred, were over the inspection of Israel on the west side of the Jordan for all the business of YHWH, and in the service of the king.

Of the Hebronite, Jerijah was the head of the Hebronite, according to the generations of his fathers. In the fortieth year of the reign of David they were sought, and there were found among them mighty men of valor at Jazer of Gilead.

And his brothers, sons of valor, two thousand and seven hundred heads of the fathers, king David appointed over the Reubenite, and the Gadite, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, for every matter of God and matter of the king.
