1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2 For in Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set you free from the law of sin and death. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful man, as an offering for sin. He thus condemned sin in the flesh, For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God <i>did:</i> sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and <i>as an offering</i> for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. 4 so that the righteous standard of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
5 Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For those who are in accord with the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are in accord with the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
6 The mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace, For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For to be carnally minded <i>is</i> death; but to be spiritually minded <i>is</i> life and peace. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile to God: It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Because the carnal mind <i>is</i> enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able <i>to do so,</i> The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.
8 Those controlled by the flesh cannot please God. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.
9 You, however, are controlled not by the flesh, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.
10 But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. And if Christ <i>be</i> in you, the body <i>is</i> dead because of sin; but the Spirit <i>is</i> life because of righteousness. If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness.
11 And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.
12 Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation, but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. So then, brothers <i>and sisters,</i> we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh— Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it.
13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. for if you are living in accord with the flesh, you are going to die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.
14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons <i>and daughters</i> of God. For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.
15 For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father! For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons <i>and daughters</i> by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”
16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.
17 And if we are children, then we are heirs: heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ— if indeed we suffer with Him, so that we may also be glorified with Him. and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with <i>him</i>, that we may be also glorified together. and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with <i>Him</i> so that we may also be glorified with <i>Him.</i> Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
18 I consider that our present sufferings are not comparable to the glory that will be revealed in us. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time <i>are</i> not worthy <i>to be compared</i> with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy <i>to be</i> compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
19 The creation waits in eager expectation for the revelation of the sons of God. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. 24 For in this hope we were saved; but hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he can already see? For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he <i>already</i> sees? For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have?
25 But if we hope for what we do not yet see, we wait for it patiently. But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. But if we hope for that we see not, <i>then</i> do we with patience wait for <i>it</i>. But if we hope for what we do not see, through perseverance we wait eagerly <i>for it.</i> But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how we ought to pray, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words. Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for <i>us</i> with groanings too deep for words; In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.
27 And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what <i>is</i> the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to <i>the will of</i> God. and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to <i>the will of</i> God. 28 And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to <i>his</i> purpose. And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to <i>His</i> purpose. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
29 For those God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate <i>to be</i> conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 31 What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 33 Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. God is the one who justifies; Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.
34 Who is there to condemn us? For Christ Jesus, who died, and more than that was raised to life, is at the right hand of God— and He is interceding for us. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Who <i>is</i> he that condemneth? <i>It is</i> Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, but rather, was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written: For Your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Just as it is written: “FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE KILLED ALL DAY LONG; WE WERE REGARDED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED.” As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
