1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and the sea is no more; Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.
2 and I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of Heaven, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband; And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
3 and I heard a great voice out of Heaven, saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God [is] with men, and He will dwell with them, and they will be His peoples, and God Himself will be with them [as] their God, And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.
4 and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying, nor will there be anymore pain, because the first things passed away.” He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
5 And He who is sitting on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new”; and He says to me, “Write, because these words are true and steadfast”; And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
6 and He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsting, I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely. And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.
7 The [one] who is overcoming will inherit all things, and I will be his God, and he will be My son. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.
8 But to fearful, and unsteadfast, and abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all the liars, their part [is] in the lake that is burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.” But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
9 And one of the seven messengers, having the seven bowls that are full of the seven last plagues, came and spoke with me, saying, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb,” Then came one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues and spoke to me, saying, “Come, I will show you the Bride, the wife of the Lamb.” One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.”

It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal.
12 also having a great and high wall, having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve messengers, and names written thereon, which are [those] of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel— It had a great, high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and on the gates the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel were inscribed— It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. 14 and the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 15 And he who is speaking with me had a golden reed, that he may measure the city, and its gates, and its wall; And the one who spoke with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city and its gates and walls. 16 and the city lies square, and the length of it is as great as the breadth; and he measured the city with the reed—twelve thousand stadia; the length, and the breadth, and the height of it are equal. The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia in length, and as wide and high as it is long.
17 And he measured its wall—one hundred forty-four cubits, the measure of a man, that is, of the messenger; He also measured its wall, 144 cubits by human measurement, which is also an angel’s measurement. The angel measured the wall using human measurement, and it was 144 cubits thick.
18 and the building of its wall was jasper, and the city [is] pure gold—like to pure glass. The wall was built of jasper, while the city was pure gold, like clear glass. The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass.
19 And the foundations of the wall of the city have been adorned with every precious stone: the first foundation jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every kind of jewel. 21 And the twelve gates [are] twelve pearls, each one of the gates respectively was of one pearl; and the street of the city [is] pure gold—as transparent glass. And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each of the gates made of a single pearl, and the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. 23 And the city has no need of the sun, nor of the moon, that they may shine in it; for the glory of God lightens it, and the lamp of it—the Lamb; And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.
24 and the nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it, By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it, The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it.
25 and its gates will never be shut by day, for night will not be there; and its gates will never be shut by day—and there will be no night there. On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there.
26 and they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it; They will bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations. The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it.
27 and there may never enter into it anything defiling and doing abomination, and a lie, if not those written in the Lamb’s Scroll of Life. But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life. Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
