1 The LORD reigns! Let the earth rejoice; let the many coasts and islands be glad. The LORD reigns, let the earth rejoice; let the many coastlands be glad! The LORD reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice.
2 Clouds and total darkness surround him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne. 10 You who love the LORD, hate evil! He protects the lives of his faithful ones; he rescues them from the power of the wicked. O you who love the LORD, hate evil! 11 Light dawns for the righteous, gladness for the upright in heart. Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart. Light shines on the righteous and joy on the upright in heart.
12 Be glad in the LORD, you righteous ones, and give thanks to his holy name. Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous, and give thanks to his holy name! Rejoice in the LORD, you who are righteous, and praise his holy name.
