Today, if you hear his voice, For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice, For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand. 8 do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, in the day at Massah in the wilderness, do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, as on the day at Massah in the wilderness, Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness: Do not harden your hearts as at Meribah, As on the day of Massah in the wilderness, “Do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massah in the wilderness,
9 where your fathers tested and tried Me, though they had seen My work. when your fathers put me to the test and put me to the proof, though they had seen my work. When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work. “When your fathers put Me to the test, They tested Me, though they had seen My work. where your ancestors tested me; they tried me, though they had seen what I did.
10 For forty years I was angry with that generation, and I said, “They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they have not known My ways.” For forty years I loathed that generation and said, “They are a people who go astray in their heart, and they have not known my ways.” Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways: “For forty years I was disgusted with that generation, And said they are a people who err in their heart, And they do not know My ways. For forty years I was angry with that generation; I said, ‘They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they have not known my ways.’
11 So I swore on oath in My anger, “They shall never enter My rest.” Therefore I swore in my wrath, “They shall not enter my rest.” Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest. “Therefore I swore in My anger, They certainly shall not enter My rest.” So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’”
