1 Unto the end, for the presses: a psalm of David. O Lord our Lord, how admirable is thy name in the whole earth! For thy magnificence is elevated above the heavens. O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. For the director of music. According to gittith. A psalm of David. LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens.
2 Out of the mouth of infants and of sucklings thou hast perfected praise, because of thy enemies, that thou mayst destroy the enemy and the avenger. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger. Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.
3 For I will behold thy heavens, the works of thy fingers: the moon and the stars which thou hast founded. When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
4 What is man that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man that thou visitest him? what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?
5 Thou hast made him a little less than the angels, thou hast crowned him with glory and honour: Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor.
6 and hast set him over the works of thy hands. You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet, You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet:
7 Thou hast subjected all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen: moreover the beasts also of the fields. all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild,
8 The birds of the air, and the fishes of the sea, that pass through the paths of the sea. the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas. the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.
9 O Lord our Lord, how admirable is thy name in all the earth! O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
