<V 63:1>Unto the end. A Psalm of David. <V 63:2>Hear, O God, my prayer of supplication. Rescue my soul from the fear of the enemy. Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; preserve my life from dread of the enemy. For the director of music. A psalm of David. Hear me, my God, as I voice my complaint; protect my life from the threat of the enemy.
<V 63:3>You have protected me from the assembly of the malignant, from a multitude of workers of iniquity. Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, from the throng of evildoers, Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked, from the plots of evildoers.
<V 63:4>For they have sharpened their tongues like a sword; they have formed their bow into a bitter thing, who whet their tongues like swords, who aim bitter words like arrows, They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim cruel words like deadly arrows.
<V 63:5>so that they may shoot arrows from hiding at the immaculate. shooting from ambush at the blameless, shooting at him suddenly and without fear. They shoot from ambush at the innocent; they shoot suddenly, without fear.
<V 63:6>They will suddenly shoot arrows at him, and they will not be afraid. They are resolute in their wicked talk. They have discussed hidden snares. They have said, “Who will see them?” They hold fast to their evil purpose; they talk of laying snares secretly, thinking, “Who can see them?” They encourage each other in evil plans, they talk about hiding their snares; they say, “Who will see it?”
<V 63:7>They have been searching carefully for iniquities. Their exhaustive search has failed. Man will approach with a deep heart, They search out injustice, saying, “We have accomplished a diligent search.” For the inward mind and heart of a man are deep. They plot injustice and say, “We have devised a perfect plan!” Surely the human mind and heart are cunning.
<V 63:8>and God will be exalted. The arrows of the little ones have become their wounds, But God shoots his arrow at them; they are wounded suddenly. But God will shoot them with his arrows; they will suddenly be struck down.
<V 63:9>and their tongues have been weakened against them. All those who saw them have been troubled; They are brought to ruin, with their own tongues turned against them; all who see them will wag their heads. He will turn their own tongues against them and bring them to ruin; all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.
<V 63:10>and every man was afraid. And they announced the works of God, and they understood his acts. Then all mankind fears; they tell what God has brought about and ponder what he has done. All people will fear; they will proclaim the works of God and ponder what he has done.
<V 63:11>The just will rejoice in the Lord, and they will hope in him. And all the upright of heart will be praised. Let the righteous one rejoice in the LORD and take refuge in him! Let all the upright in heart exult! The righteous will rejoice in the LORD and take refuge in him; all the upright in heart will glory in him!
