For the one directing. According to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. Only toward God is my soul silent; from Him is my salvation. For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. For the director of music. For Jeduthun. A psalm of David. Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him.
Only He is my Rock and my salvation, My tower; not much will I be shaken. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
Until when will you⁺ plot against a man? You⁺ are destroyed, all of you⁺, like a wall leaning, a fence being pushed down. How long will all of you attack a man to batter him, like a leaning wall, a tottering fence? How long will you assault me? Would all of you throw me down— this leaning wall, this tottering fence?
Surely from his high position they take counsel to thrust him down; they delight in lies—with their mouth they bless, and within them they curse. Selah They only plan to thrust him down from his high position. They take pleasure in falsehood. They bless with their mouths, but inwardly they curse. Selah Surely they intend to topple me from my lofty place; they take delight in lies. With their mouths they bless, but in their hearts they curse.
Only for God be silent, O my soul, for from Him is my hope. For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.
Only He is my Rock and my salvation, my secure height; I will not be shaken. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
In God is my salvation and my glory, the Rock of my strength; my refuge is in God. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your⁺ heart before Him; God is is a refuge for us. Selah Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Selah Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.
Only a vapor are the sons of a man, a lie the sons of a man—in the scales they go up as a vapor together. Those of low estate are but a breath; those of high estate are a delusion; in the balances they go up; they are together lighter than a breath. Surely the lowborn are but a breath, the highborn are but a lie. If weighed on a balance, they are nothing; together they are only a breath.
You should⁺ not trust in oppression, and do not be vain in robbery; on wealth when it increases you⁺ should not set the heart. Put no trust in extortion; set no vain hopes on robbery; if riches increase, set not your heart on them. Do not trust in extortion or put vain hope in stolen goods; though your riches increase, do not set your heart on them.
Once God has spoken; twice I have heard this, that strength is unto God, Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God, One thing God has spoken, two things I have heard: “Power belongs to you, God,
and unto You, O Lord, is loving devotion. For You do recompense to each man according to his work. and that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love. For you will render to a man according to his work. and with you, Lord, is unfailing love|; and, “You reward everyone according to what they have done.”
