Unto the end, a psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came to him after he had sinned with Bethsabee. Have mercy on me, O God, according to thy great mercy. And according to the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my iniquity. Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. For the director of music. A psalm of David. When the prophet Nathan came to him after David had committed adultery with Bathsheba. Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.
Wash me yet more from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin! Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
For I know my iniquity, and my sin is always before me. For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.
To thee only have I sinned, and have done evil before thee: that thou mayst be justified in thy words and mayst overcome when thou art judged. Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words and blameless in your judgment. Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge.
For behold I was conceived in iniquities; and in sins did my mother conceive me. Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me. Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
For behold thou hast loved truth: the uncertain and hidden things of thy wisdom thou hast made manifest to me. Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart. Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place.
Thou shalt sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be cleansed: thou shalt wash me, and I shall be made whiter than snow. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
To my hearing thou shalt give joy and gladness: and the bones that have been humbled shall rejoice. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones that you have broken rejoice. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice.
Turn away thy face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.
Create a clean heart in me, O God: and renew a right spirit within my bowels. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Cast me not away from thy face; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation, and strengthen me with a perfect spirit. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
I will teach the unjust thy ways: and the wicked shall be converted to thee. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, so that sinners will turn back to you.
Deliver me from blood, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall extol thy justice. Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, O God of my salvation, and my tongue will sing aloud of your righteousness. Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, you who are God my Savior, and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.
O Lord, thou wilt open my lips: and my mouth shall declare thy praise. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise. Open my lips, Lord, and my mouth will declare your praise.
For if thou hadst desired sacrifice, I would indeed have given it: with burnt offerings thou wilt not be delighted. For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it; you will not be pleased with a burnt offering. You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
A sacrifice to God is an afflicted spirit: a contrite and humbled heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.
Deal favourably, O Lord, in thy good will with Sion; that the walls of Jerusalem may be built up. Do good to Zion in your good pleasure; build up the walls of Jerusalem; May it please you to prosper Zion, to build up the walls of Jerusalem.
Then shalt thou accept the sacrifice of justice, oblations and whole burnt offerings: then shall they lay calves upon thy altar. then will you delight in right sacrifices, in burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings; then bulls will be offered on your altar. Then you will delight in the sacrifices of the righteous, in burnt offerings offered whole; then bulls will be offered on your altar.
