For the end, a Psalm of David, concerning her that inherits. Hearken to my words, O Lord, attend to my cry. Give ear to my words, O LORD; consider my groaning. For the director of music. For pipes. A psalm of David. Listen to my words, LORD, consider my lament.
Attend to the voice of my supplication, my King, and my God: for to thee, O Lord, will I pray. Give attention to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to you do I pray. Hear my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.
In the morning thou shalt hear my voice: in the morning will I wait upon thee, and will look up. O LORD, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch. In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.
For thou art not a god that desires iniquity; neither shall the worker of wickedness dwell with thee. For you are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil may not dwell with you. For you are not a God who is pleased with wickedness; with you, evil people are not welcome.
Neither shall the transgressors continue in thy sight: thou hatest, O Lord, all them that work iniquity. The boastful shall not stand before your eyes; you hate all evildoers. The arrogant cannot stand in your presence. You hate all who do wrong;
Thou wilt destroy all that speak falsehood: the Lord abhors the bloody and deceitful man. You destroy those who speak lies; the LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man. you destroy those who tell lies. The bloodthirsty and deceitful you, LORD, detest.
But I will enter into thine house in the multitude of thy mercy: I will worship in thy fear toward thy holy temple. But I, through the abundance of your steadfast love, will enter your house. I will bow down toward your holy temple in the fear of you. But I, by your great love, can come into your house; in reverence I bow down toward your holy temple.
Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make my way plain before thy face. Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies; make your way straight before me. Lead me, LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies— make your way straight before me.
For there is no truth in their mouth; their heart is vain; their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit. For there is no truth in their mouth; their inmost self is destruction; their throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongue. Not a word from their mouth can be trusted; their heart is filled with malice. Their throat is an open grave; with their tongues they tell lies.
Judge them, O God; let them fail of their counsels: cast them out according to the abundance of their ungodliness; for they have provoked thee, O Lord. Make them bear their guilt, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; because of the abundance of their transgressions cast them out, for they have rebelled against you. Declare them guilty, O God! Let their intrigues be their downfall. Banish them for their many sins, for they have rebelled against you.
But let all that trust on thee be glad in thee: they shall exult for ever, and thou shalt dwell among them; and all that love thy name shall rejoice in thee. But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you. But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.
For thou, Lord, shalt bless the righteous: thou hast compassed us as with a shield of favour. For you bless the righteous, O LORD; you cover him with favor as with a shield. Surely, LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.
