1 Of David. When he feigned madness before Abimelech, so that he drove him away and he departed. I will bless Yahweh at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. Of David. When he pretended to be insane before Abimelek, who drove him away, and he left. I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.
2 My soul will make its boast in Yahweh; The humble will hear it and rejoice. My soul makes its boast in the LORD; let the humble hear and be glad. I will glory in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
3 O magnify Yahweh with me, And let us exalt His name together. Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together! Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.
4 I inquired of Yahweh, and He answered me, And delivered me from all that I dread. I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.
5 They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces will never be humiliated. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.
6 This poor man called out, and Yahweh heard him And saved him out of all his troubles. This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear Him, And rescues them. The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.
8 O taste and see that Yahweh is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
9 Oh, fear Yahweh, you His saints; For there is no want to those who fear Him. Oh, fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him have no lack! Fear the LORD, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing.
10 The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; But they who inquire of Yahweh shall not be in want of any good thing. The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
11 Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of Yahweh. Come, O children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12 Who is the man who delights in life And loves many days that he may see good? What man is there who desires life and loves many days, that he may see good? Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days,
13 Guard your tongue from evil And your lips from speaking deceit. Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies.
14 Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it. Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
15 The eyes of Yahweh are toward the righteous And His ears are open to their cry for help. The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry. The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry;
16 The face of Yahweh is against evildoers, To cut off the memory of them from the earth. The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth. but the face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to blot out their name from the earth.
17 The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears And delivers them out of all their troubles. When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.
18 Yahweh is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit. The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
19 Many are the evils against the righteous, But Yahweh delivers him out of them all. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all. The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all;
20 He keeps all his bones, Not one of them is broken. He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken. he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.
21 Evil shall slay the wicked, And those who hate the righteous will be condemned. Affliction will slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be condemned. Evil will slay the wicked; the foes of the righteous will be condemned.
22 Yahweh redeems the soul of His slaves, And all those who take refuge in Him will not be condemned. The LORD redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned. The LORD will rescue his servants; no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.
