Alleluia, a Psalm of Aggaeus and Zacharias. My soul, praise the Lord. Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD, O my soul! Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD, my soul.
While I live will I praise the Lord: I will sing praises to my God as long as I exist. I will praise the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
Trust not in princes, nor in the children of men, in whom there is no safety. Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save.
His breath shall go forth, and he shall return to his earth; in that day all his thoughts shall perish. When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish. When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing.
Blessed is he whose helper is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God: Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God, Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD their God.
who made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all things in them: who keeps truth for ever: who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever; He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them— he remains faithful forever.
who executes judgment for the wronged: who gives food to the hungry. The Lord looses the fettered ones: who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets the prisoners free; He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free,
the Lord gives wisdom to the blind: The Lord sets up the broken down: the Lord loves the righteous: the Lord preserves the strangers; the LORD opens the eyes of the blind. The LORD lifts up those who are bowed down; the LORD loves the righteous. the LORD gives sight to the blind, the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down, the LORD loves the righteous.
he will relieve the orphan and widow: but will utterly remove the way of sinners. The LORD watches over the sojourners; he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. The LORD watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.
The Lord shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Sion, to all generations. The LORD will reign forever, your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the LORD! The LORD reigns forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations. Praise the LORD.
