1 Praise the LORD! Let all that I am praise the LORD. Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD, O my soul! Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD, my soul.
2 I will praise the LORD as long as I live. I will sing praises to my God with my dying breath. I will praise the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
3 Don’t put your confidence in powerful people; there is no help for you there. Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save.
4 When they breathe their last, they return to the earth, and all their plans die with them. When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish. When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing.
5 But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is in the LORD their God. Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God, Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD their God.
6 He made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He keeps every promise forever. who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever; He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them— he remains faithful forever.
7 He gives justice to the oppressed and food to the hungry. The LORD frees the prisoners. who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets the prisoners free; He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free,
8 The LORD opens the eyes of the blind. The LORD lifts up those who are weighed down. The LORD loves the godly. the LORD opens the eyes of the blind. 9 The LORD protects the foreigners among us. He cares for the orphans and widows, but he frustrates the plans of the wicked. The LORD watches over the sojourners; he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. The LORD watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.
10 The LORD will reign forever. He will be your God, O Jerusalem, throughout the generations. Praise the LORD! The LORD will reign forever, your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the LORD! The LORD reigns forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations. Praise the LORD.
