1 {A Song of degrees. Of David.} Jehovah, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty; neither do I exercise myself in great matters, and in things too wonderful for me. O LORD, my heart is not lifted up; my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me. A song of ascents. Of David. My heart is not proud, LORD, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me.
2 Surely I have restrained and composed my soul, like a weaned child with its mother: my soul within me is as a weaned child. But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me. But I have calmed and quieted myself, I am like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child I am content.
3 Let Israel hope in Jehovah, from henceforth and for evermore. O Israel, hope in the LORD from this time forth and forevermore. Israel, put your hope in the LORD both now and forevermore.
