For the choir director: according to Sheminith. A Davidic psalm. Help, LORD, for no faithful one remains; the loyal have disappeared from the human race. Save, O LORD, for the godly one is gone; for the faithful have vanished from among the children of man. For the director of music. According to sheminith. A psalm of David. Help, LORD, for no one is faithful anymore; those who are loyal have vanished from the human race.
They lie to one another; they speak with flattering lips and deceptive hearts. Everyone utters lies to his neighbor; with flattering lips and a double heart they speak. Everyone lies to their neighbor; they flatter with their lips but harbor deception in their hearts.
May the LORD cut off all flattering lips and the tongue that speaks boastfully. May the LORD cut off all flattering lips, the tongue that makes great boasts, May the LORD silence all flattering lips and every boastful tongue—
They say, “Through our tongues we have power; our lips are our own—who can be our master?|” those who say, “With our tongue we will prevail, our lips are with us; who is master over us?” those who say, “By our tongues we will prevail; our own lips will defend us—who is lord over us?”
Because of the oppression of the afflicted and the groaning of the poor, I will now rise up,” says the LORD.” I will put the one who longs for it in a safe place.” “Because the poor are plundered, because the needy groan, I will now arise,” says the LORD; “I will place him in the safety for which he longs.” “Because the poor are plundered and the needy groan, I will now arise,” says the LORD. “I will protect them from those who malign them.”
The words of the LORD are pure words, like silver refined in an earthen furnace, purified seven times. The words of the LORD are pure words, like silver refined in a furnace on the ground, purified seven times. And the words of the LORD are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times.
You, LORD, will guard us; You will protect us from this generation forever. You, O LORD, will keep them; you will guard us from this generation forever. You, LORD, will keep the needy safe and will protect us forever from the wicked,
The wicked wander everywhere, and what is worthless is exalted by the human race. On every side the wicked prowl, as vileness is exalted among the children of man. who freely strut about when what is vile is honored by the human race.
