Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in his commandments! Praise the LORD. Blessed are those who fear the LORD, who find great delight in his commands.
His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Their children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.
Wealth and riches are in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever. Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. Wealth and riches are in their houses, and their righteousness endures forever.
Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious, merciful, and righteous. Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous.
Well is it with the man that dealeth graciously and lendeth; he shall maintain his cause in judgment. It is well with the man who deals generously and lends; who conducts his affairs with justice. Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice.
For he shall never be moved; the righteous shall be had in everlasting remembrance. For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever.
He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD. He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the LORD. They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the LORD.
His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his adversaries. His heart is steady; he will not be afraid, until he looks in triumph on his adversaries. Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear; in the end they will look in triumph on their foes.
He hath dispersed, he hath given to the needy; his righteousness endureth for ever: his horn shall be exalted with honour. He has distributed freely; he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn is exalted in honor. They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor, their righteousness endures forever; their horn will be lifted high in honor.
The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish. The wicked man sees it and is angry; he gnashes his teeth and melts away; the desire of the wicked will perish! The wicked will see and be vexed, they will gnash their teeth and waste away; the longings of the wicked will come to nothing.
