My son, forget not my law, and let thy heart keep my commandments. My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart,
For they shall add to thee length of days, and years of life and peace. for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity.
Let not mercy and truth leave thee, put them about thy neck, and write them in the tables of thy heart: Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
And thou shalt And grace and good understanding before God and men. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.
Have confidence in the Lord with all thy heart, and lean not upon thy own prudence. Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
In all thy ways think on him, and he will direct thy steps. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
Be not wise in thy own conceit: fear God, and depart from evil: Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil.
For it shall be health to thy navel, and moistening to thy bones. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.
Honour the Lord with thy substance, and give him of the first of all thy fruits : Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce; Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops;
And thy barns shall be filled with abundance, and thy presses shall run over with wine. then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine. then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.
My son, reject not the correction of the Lord: and do not faint when thou art chastised by him: My son, do not despise the LORD’s discipline or be weary of his reproof, My son, do not despise the LORD’s discipline, and do not resent his rebuke,
For whom the Lord loveth, he chastiseth: and as a father in the son he pleaseth himself. for the LORD reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights. because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.
Blessed is the man that findeth wisdom and is rich in prudence: Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding,
The purchasing thereof is better than the merchandise of silver, and her fruit than the chiefest and purest gold: for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.
She is more precious than all riches : and all the things that are desired, are not to be compared with her. She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her.
Length of days is in her right hand, and in her left hand riches and glory. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.
Her ways are beautiful ways, and all her paths are peaceable. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace.
She is a tree of life to them that lay hold on her: and he that shall retain her is blessed. She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast are called blessed. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed.
The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth, hath established the heavens by prudence. The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens; By wisdom the LORD laid the earth’s foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place;
By his wisdom the depths have broken out, and the clouds grow thick with dew by his knowledge the deeps broke open, and the clouds drop down the dew. by his knowledge the watery depths were divided, and the clouds let drop the dew.
My son, let not these things depart from thy eyes: keep the law and counsel: My son, do not lose sight of these— keep sound wisdom and discretion, My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion;
And there shall be life to thy soul, and grace to thy mouth. and they will be life for your soul and adornment for your neck. they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck.
