Near the field of a lazy man I passed by, and near the vineyard of a man lacking heart. I passed by the field of a sluggard, by the vineyard of a man lacking sense, I went past the field of a sluggard, past the vineyard of someone who has no sense;
And behold, thorns had come up all over it; its face was covered with nettles, and the wall of its stones was torn down. and behold, it was all overgrown with thorns; the ground was covered with nettles, and its stone wall was broken down. thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins.
And I saw—I—I set my heart; I have seen, I have received instruction. Then I saw and considered it; I looked and received instruction. I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw:
A little sleep, a little slumber, a little a folding of the hands to rest, A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest—
and your poverty has come as one traveling, and your needs like a man of shield. and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man. and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.
